Clients : Jiffy Lube
The Jiffy Lube co-op of Baltimore was a client of Carton Donofrio Partners,
the parent company of Context. Jiffy Lube was interested in learning how to
increase employee retention. It wanted to understand what motivated the employees,
what factors contributed to staff turnover and retention.
Context researchers went into four locations in the Baltimore area. They conducted
participant observation and spent time in each location observing a normal workday.
In addition, they conducted Ethnographic Trend Analysis Interviews (ETAs) with
employees. In addition, two participants from each location were interviewed
in-depth and competed a photo journal to capture his or her work and motivational
experience.
After a presentation of the findings with Jiffy Lube co-op management, Context
and Carton Donofrio Partners conducted two workshops for Jiffy Lube shop managers.
The workshops included a presentation of the research findings and a discussion
and breakout sessions designed to help participants learn how to increase staff
retention.
